At Living Faith on November 19th, Lauren Feaster shared stories of her life and wisdom from her journey.   I found myself ruminating all week about two insights she shared.  First, she lives life with a sense of abundance.  While problems exist everywhere we look, we also have people everywhere with a wealth of gifts.  By tapping into those gifts, we can tackle the problems which plague us.  Second, I asked Lauren if she ever experiences moments of the “kingdom breaking in”, moments when things feel deeply aligned. She smiled and said, I experience those moments every single day.  The beauty of her answer challenged me to be more sensitive to the sacred everywhere around me each day.

Through 2024, we benefited from the wisdom of friends of Kairos Collective through these uncommon conversations.  As people shared of their daily lives, each person lived into this sense of abundance by sharing deep theological wisdom of their lives in everyday non-religious language.  I am thankful for each one of those moments.  I invite you to join us when we restart these conversations in 2025.

Today is a day of clarity for some, confusion for others and both for many. We live in a moment saturated with meanness and grievance and fear.  

Many of us feel mixtures of sadness, anger and disappointment. Some are confused about what the world is saying. Others are not surprised at all. The awfulness has always been here and is clearer now than ever.

Give yourself  a moment to grieve, to feel, to be present for one another, to reflect.

There is important work to be done. It can wait a moment.
