“It’s so easy to be discouraged, but it’s so important not to be discouraged.”

Alan Borsuk, Senior Fellow at Marquette University Law School, closed August’s Living Faith session with these wise words.  Kicking off our Fall series focused on “Living our Faith in Troubled Times”, Alan illuminated a key perspective of his faith journey and his career as a journalist in Milwaukee by providing an example of what “bearing witness” or to use Vaclav Havel’s phrase “living in truth” means.  Alan shared poignant stories, challenging observations about the state of the world, and a deep sense of hope. I felt inspired to live a life into old age engaged in the community around us with a similar sense of hope grounded in faith.
